Les activités du Symposium se dérouleront au Pavillon de croisières et au Membertou Trade and Convention Centre. Un service de navette sera disponible à partir des deux hôtels officiels pour les participants et vers la Forteresse de Louisbourg. Le Pavillon de croisière est à une courte distance de marche des hôtels.

Cape Breton Miners Museum - RSVP required at registration or by email to

Take an underground tour of the Ocean Deeps Colliery, a real coal mine located beneath the Museum building. Retired coal miners are your guides for this excursion underground, and promise to entertain and inform you in a custom that has become treasured by visitors all over the world. Situated on one of the most picturesque coasts of Cape Breton Island, on a 15-acre site filled with wild roses and grasses, the Cape Breton Miners Museum pays tribute to the region's long and rich history of coal mining. It is home to profound stories of miners and their families, and the resource that helped build a nation.

On your guided tour, learn the traditional practices and medicines used by Mi'kmaw ancestors. A community leader will lead you through a beautifully wooded trail in Membertou, sharing stories, legends, and the traditional medicines and plants which the Mi’kmaw people lived off of for thousands of years, and some still today. The Medicine Walk finishes with a dream catcher workshop featuring traditional bread and tea.
