History

2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Cruise Canada New England Symposium. The symposium has its roots in New Brunswick, Canada when it began as an initiative of the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association back in 1999. The initiative received overwhelming support from Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and the President of Premier Cruise Line came and addressed the more than 100 participants during the one-day conference.

This initiative had such a success, the Cruise the Saint Lawrence Association announced they would host the Cruise Canada New England Symposium 2000 in Montréal, and invited all industry representatives to participate. The Cruise Canada New England Alliance afterward determined the symposium would take place either May or June every year, in a region chosen by rotation.
