History

The Cruise Canada New England Symposium has its roots in New Brunswick, Canada when it began as an initiative of the Atlantic Canada Cruise Association back in 1999. The initiative received overwhelming support from Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International. The President of Premier Cruise Line came to the first conference and addressed the more than 100 participants.

This initiative was such a success, the Cruise the Saint Lawrence Association announced they would host the Cruise Canada New England Symposium 2000 in Montréal, and invited all industry representatives to participate. The Cruise Canada New England Alliance afterward determined the symposium would take place either May or June every year, in a region chosen by rotation.
